Knighton, where you can find out more information on the Offa’s Dyke, and stock up on provisions for your stay in Harry Tuffins – an experience not to be missed! (15 minutes)

Kington, with its award winning butchers, the lovely gardens at Hergest Croft and our favourite local walk up to Hergest Ridge, past the monkey puzzle trees (15 minutes)

Ludlow, with its half-framed buildings, castle and food festival (30 minutes)

Hereford, for its lovely cathedral, the Mappa Mundi and a refreshing stop at the Cider Museum (35 minutes)

Hay-On-Wye, famed for its book and antique shops, as well as its location on the river Wye, making it an ideal place to try your hand at canoeing (45 minutes)

Brecon and its Beacons, giving you plenty of choice for outdoor activities (45 minutes)

The Elan Valley lakes, with their spectacular landscape and Victorian dams (1 hour)

Snowdonia,  with its snow-topped peaks, for serious hikes and cycle rides  (2 hours)

The Pembrokshire coast, with its rugged cliffs and sandy beaches (2 hours)

The Gower Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, for surfing and sun-bathing (2 hours)
