Walk or cycle to award-winning pubs, traditional boozers, picturesque half timbered villages, fêtes, farmers’ markets, gardens or concerts.
There are also wonderful short and picturesque walks to be found hereabouts, and a public footpath goes directly past the house towards Offa’s Dyke. We can help you with maps and routes for local walks and the Presteigne town trail.
Presteigne, our nearest town, is less than a mile away, a comfortable twenty minutes’ stroll either along the bridle path or down lovely country lanes. It is a small town of great charm and interest, with boutiques, pubs and restaurants. The Judge’s Lodging was voted among the UK’s 10 best small museums.
The woodland around Paradise Farmhouse teems with flora and fauna. Every day starts with an astonishing chorus of birdsong; every walk reveals a rich variety of birds and beasts.
Other highlights might include a walk round the garden at Bryan’s Ground, a visit to the Bleddfa Centre for a painting class, or taking in an arthouse film or concert at one of our inspiring local venues.
Information on these and many other local attractions is available for you to peruse in our Reception, and we will be happy to make suggestions if you find yourself at a loose end.
